Italy, You Make My Heart Sing

I just came back from another magical trip to southern Italy. It is now the country I have visited the most in the past 6 years, and every time I go, I fall a little bit more in love with it. I particularly like the region of Apulia because of its proximity to the sea, something I desperately miss.

Southern Italy also seems a little less saturated with big cities; Lecce and Gallipoli were the biggest towns I visited on this trip, and both are very easy-going and charming. I've been to both before, but the last time it was low season, so it was super quiet. Although it was noticeably busier with tourists, I still enjoyed spending some time there. I had delicious pizza in Gallipoli, and a really nice story about a lost parrot in Lecce :D.

Nature was truly the main protagonist of this trip; that is where I am happiest, and because I was hanging out with a local, I had some amazing adventures in the most beautiful spots, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes.

It was a magical mix of chilling out, shit loads of walking, and exploring. I got to pick capers, ferment them, and take them home to add to my own fermented products (fucking glorious). The highlight of this trip was jumping from a 6-meter cliff –something I hadn't done in a very long time. I'm so glad I did, despite feeling a little anxious :). There is nothing like overcoming fear and going for it. What a trip.

Antes de que caduque el yogur :D
