I absolutely adore my birthday. I'm pretty sure I've posted about it every year since I started this blog; and if I didn't, it's because I was having too much of a good time celebrating it – and myself. To me, my birthday is an opportunity to celebrate my life, all the hardships and the beautiful moments that have shaped me so far.
I can be quite hard on myself sometimes, so Aries season is a time of joy for me – not that my life is not joyful outside of Aries season :D. I just make a point to unapologetically celebrate myself by spending time doing things that contribute to my well-being and surround myself with people who bring me joy. I've done everything from taking myself on holiday to partying like a maniac or just spending it alone; whatever the circumstance, I'm always very present with it. And this year was no different.

I decided to go to Portugal for the week leading up to my birthday, which happened to fall on the same day as a full supermoon. It was a week packed with adventures: I went salsa dancing, did an ice bath and breathing session which was followed by a yin yoga class; I treated myself to a massage, spent every day in nature, swimming and walking, and spent my birthday weekend camping in the most beautiful setting where I got to the see the full moon rise over a hill.
I was taken out for a delicious birthday dinner, eating outside with the almost full moon watching over us. It was truly magical; my time in Portugal always is, to be honest. I also made myself not one, but two birthday cakes this year – one in Portugal and one in France upon my return :). My sweet neighbour gave me a bouquet of roses after she found out that it was my birthday, I was so touched by this unexpected act of kindness.

I've never cared about my age, but I can't believe I've been on this earth for 47 years now, it feels mental to say that :). I feel very blessed and grateful for all the wonderful birthdays I've had so far, and all the people who make my life so joyful and full of love. Thank you.
